ABOUT DEXSTARR

I got into the Harry Potter fandom in June 2010. While I've loved the books for a decade, I didn't start reading fanfic until then...but now I'm making up for lost time! The majority of my activity is on LJ, however, I do have InsaneJournal (dexstarr) and Dreamwidth (dexstarr) accounts.

I read and write primarily femmeslash, gen, and the occasional het. I do not have an OTP any longer, but my tastes have changed to where I generally prefer older characters and/or cross-gen relationships. Favorite characters include: Narcissa Malfoy, Bellatrix Lestrange, Lucius Malfoy, Pansy Parkinson, Astoria Greengrass, the Dark Lord, Rodolphus Lestrange, Andromeda Black, Millicent Bulstrode, Rolanda Hooch, Minerva McGonagall, and other Hogwarts professors. Lately I've also had a fascination with name-only characters like Aurora Sinistra, Septima Vector, and Charity Burbage, to name a few.

I like my Death Eaters to be evil and unredeemed, and my Slytherins to be more than just the bad kids of Hogwarts. I like to think about why Bellatrix is evil and crazy, and why Aurora Sinistra became a professor. I like to imagine what Minerva and Rolanda are getting up to after curfew, and how Narcissa tests Astoria.

My primary fandom is Harry Potter, but I love Rizzoli and Isles. I mostly lurk in the R&I fandom, but have written one fic.

When I'm not obsessing over writing fic or reading fic, I can be found reading books (from science fiction and fantasy to history and everything in-between), knitting, running, staring at the stock market, and trying to understand Britishisms. I'm also attempting to write original fiction, which isn't going fantastically well, so I flail around a lot.
